Dive in Croatia: Cetina river
The water at the source is crystal clear and reaches about a dozen degrees in the summer. The view alone is amazing. Nearby the Church which is situated on the scarp, we can see the beautiful, blue source of 40 meters diameter that is 115 ft deep. It looks like a blue eye.
Transparent water probably makes the largest positive impression on divers. The shape of the church is visible underwater, even at depths of 40m. Noteworthy is also the unusual vegetation, located close to the surface. We highly recommend that anyone who visits Croatia also visit the source of the Cetina River. Once you experience it, you will want to come back.
It is characteristic for Cetina trout living there. They are endemic to this place, which means that you will not find them anywhere else in the world. While diving in the Cetina River you will likely encounter them often, some of them reach lengths as long as 50 cm. The limestone walls of the tank are quite steep and rocks in the source take on very interesting forms. At a depth of around 35 meters, there are two side tunnels. Below this depth, the walls are already vertical. Diving in the source is an amazing underwater experience!
